After the success of our virtual retreat last year, Black Dance Change Makers couldn't be more thrilled to be hosting our first-ever in-person retreat!
The world has transformed so much in the past few years, and alongside that, we as Change Makers have been challenging ourselves on how we can make lasting change in ourselves, and our community around us.
This year's retreat is all about the courage, tenacity, and nerve that it takes to make that first step towards change.

Black Dance Change Makers (BDCM) is a platform designed to unite and uplift Black-identifying dancers through leadership, education, service, and community building. We offer a safe, resourceful community for Black dancers around the world to connect with each other.
What is Best Life Retreat 2021 Recharge, Rechart, Reignite?
Best Life Retreat 2021: Recharge, Rechart, Reignite is our first ever Black Dance Change Makers Retreat.
BDCM is a platform designed to unite and uplift Black-identifying dancers through leadership, education, service, and community building. Best Life Retreat was developed to embrace these four pillars. Through this virtual offering, we hope to grow our community of empowering leaders and establish an environment in which we can rechart, recharge, and reignite our inner selves, together.
Is the Best Life Retreat only for Black-identifying dancers?
No. While Black Dance Change Makers is a platform designed specifically for Black-identifying dancers, our retreat is open to all!
Are there any age restrictions?
You must be at least 16 years old to attend the Best Life Retreat.
How much does it cost to attend the event?
With our tremendous line-up, we’re excited to present an experience that offers infinite value to all of our participants. Black Dance Change Makers members may attend the retreat at a sliding scale rate of $10 - 25. Non-members may attend for $35. Non-members who register to become BDCM members each pay on a sliding scale of $10 - 25 to attend the retreat and enjoy their first month of membership FREE OF CHARGE.
Do I have to attend every part of the Retreat?
No. While we encourage registrants to attend as many parts of the live event as possible, post-retreat we will share a resource page containing all session recordings so you may later view the ones you missed.
Where is the event located?
Although we’d love to meet up in person, to ensure the most safety and accessibility for all guest speakers and participants, this year’s retreat will be hosted online via the Zoom platform.
