Black Dance Change Makers is a space for people who want to be a part of an ever-growing, ever-changing, ever-learning community. We are always learning and unlearning, and although we have so much in common, we all have different histories, and implicit biases, so unfortunately, nothing we can do will make this space 100% safe for everyone.
What we can promise though, as true Change Makers, is to commit to doing our best to build a space where people can bring their whole selves, and where there is safety in the ability to speak truths and hold each other accountable.
With that, we have outlined the following Safer Space Policy for out event:
- We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, unwanted touch, discrimination, threatening, or violent behavior. Hate speech will not be tolerated.
- Always ASK FOR CONSENT before touching anyone at our event. Consent is active, conscientious, voluntary, verbal, and ongoing, and is not restricted to sexual contact. Respect people, their bodies, beliefs, possessions, and space.
- Take care of each other. If you see someone who needs help or a situation that looks questionable or uncomfortable, intervene or find one of the BDCM HOMIES for support.
-
The East Wing of the Stumble Inn has a ground-level entrance that is wheelchair accessible and has an accessible private bathroom.
This event will be mask-optional, and BDCM Team Members will have extra masks available upon request.
Please note that there will be loud music and alcohol consumption at the event. We encourage all participants to engage with respect and consideration for one another's experiences and boundaries.
If you have any additional accessibility needs for this event, please let us know on the RSVP link.
We may follow-up with you to collaborate on ways to make the event accessible for you.
